Check For Access to the Internet
If your Vonage adapter cannot access the Internet, you cannot make or receive calls. Use the following steps to make sure your phone adapter can access the Internet.
- Make sure all power cords and Internet cables are plugged in.
- Make sure the Vonage adapter, cable modem, and other equipment on your network are working.
- Try to browse to a few web sites. Be sure to refresh the page to make sure you are not viewing an old version of the page. If you can open up a few web pages, your Internet connection is working.
- Place a call from your Vonage line.
- The call does not go through. Go to Step 5.
- The call goes through. Try placing a call to your Vonage line from anther phone. If this call does not go through and you receive an error message or fast busy sound, please contact customer support.

Restart Your Phone Adapter or Network.
- Place a call from your Vonage line.
- The call goes through. Go to Step 7.
- The call does not go through. Go to Step 8.
- Connect your computer directly to your Cable modem.
- Try to browse a few web sites. Be sure to refresh the page to make sure you are not viewing an old version of the page.
- If you have tried all of the above steps, and you still are unable to browse the internet, then there is a problem with your internet connection. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
